COVID-19 & SFBA CORSA

Hello to all!

SFBA CORSA hopes that this post finds you all safe and healthy.

We wanted to send out a blog post to let you know where things are standing with SFBA CORSA and the West Coast Corvair world at this time.

  • If you haven't heard yet, Clark's Corvair Parts is closed due to COVID-19 and will remain closed until April 7th, at the earliest. As of 3/25, California Corvairs is still operational. Mike's Corvair Parts should be operational too. If you are looking for used parts, Steve Morton is still active and has the best prices around on used parts. Links for all of these vendors are in our links section of www.sfbacorsa.org

  • SFBA CORSA has decided to cancel our April 2nd meeting due to the shelter in place for COVID-19 in California. The May meeting is currently TBD.

  • Classic Corvairs of River City has postponed the Spring Fling due to the COVID-19 shelter in place. No word yet on if the show will be cancelled for the year or postponed until the virus passes. I am in contact with their club president, John Heiser, and will update with any new information.

  • Central Coast Corsa has cancelled Vairfest this year with the CORSA convention being held in San Diego in July.

  • As of right now, the CORSA convention is still planned for July 6-11. I have been in contact with our West Coast CORSA Rep (and SFBA CORSA member) Greg Vargas and will let everyone know if there are any changes to the event.

  • SFBA and Valley CORSA are still planning on holding our annual picnic in Fremont in Aug. After all of this, it sure will feel good to get some sun and some BBQ!

  • South Coast Corsa has made the decision to cancel the A2A show in El Segundo for this year. With the coronavirus, convention and SCC seeing over the fan belt toss this year, the decision was made by their club that they could not dedicate the attention, time AND MONEY that it takes to pull off that great show.

  • The Fan Belt Toss has been rescheduled to OCT 2-4 in Palm Springs. Normally, this event is held at the end of October, but the Coachella music festival has been rescheduled for that date. Hotel pricing and availability are a non-starter during Coachella, so the So-Cal guys decided the weekend of the 2nd would be a safer bet to hold the show.

I think that's it for right now. I see a lot of you online doing virtual cruises and car shows on Social Media and am loving it. Please keep sending your pics to the instagram page. You can message them to me here as well and I will post them on our social media platforms.

Stay safe. Stay sane. We'll see you out on the road as soon as we can!
